Race and Nationalism in Literature of North Korea and South Korea by Korean War Period


Meaning of Race in Literature by Korean War Period
By Korean War periode, North Korea and South Korea, both of them, got influence from the other outside country’s culture. That is the point which the writer want to explain with discuss their unique policy character.

South Korea.                                                                         
South Korea’s novel writers appear some kind of race with different describes in their novels. American people, Uni Soviet people, and Chinese people is described by kind of family member but sometimes they can be a nation enemy. But, novel by Yu Ju Hyeon and Park Yeong Hee is quite unique. Because they more focused on the story’s theme. So, their novel was different with the other writer’s novels that time.

North Korea
We can see novels by Korean War periode in North Korea show many races with point of view and estimation which made by the writer. American people is described by a person who has not humanity feelings, they even described by a wild animal. On the other side, Uni Soviet people is described by a hero who spread happiness, a freedom for North Korea. Ang the last, Chinese people is described by their family’s member. This is the kind of especiality that we can find in North Korea’s novels.
   
Conclusion
We can conclude that literature by Korean War periode, from South Korea or North Korea, both of them, together push a nationalism substance which has high power to force their ideology enemy and also to build and to strengthen their own policy ideology. With stimulating the enmity and hostility with the two Korea, their own citizen will have high spirit and high power to go to the war to kill their enemy. If we see this point, we can understand that how difficult the reunification of the two Korea will be.
